The following message is taken from the LDSB Website:
Please find attached the current Secondary Occasional Teacher Seniority list. For clarification, the seniority order is first determined by the date of hire. If two or more OT"s have the same date of hire then the order is determined by the number of FTE days worked as a Secondary Occasional teacher in LDSB since the date of hire. If you have a hire date that is unique and not shared with any other occasional teacher then no FTE days worked will appear.
If two or more occasional teachers have the same date of hire AND the same number of FTE days worked as a Secondary Occasional teacher in LDSB then the following tie breakers would be used: (1) outside teaching experience and finally, if required by (2) lots.
New Secondary Occasional teachers hired in September 1, 2013 do appear on the list but have not yet been rank ordered. This will be determined in the summer of 2014 once the days worked in LDSB as a Secondary Occasional teacher are updated.
The LDSB days worked column will be updated each summer to reflect days worked in the previous school year. The recalculation of days worked can result in the seniority order for occasional teachers with a shared date of hire to change from year to year.
