The Teachers' and Occasional Teachers' Bargaining Unit (TBU)
The Teachers' Bargaining Unit represents all full or part-time teachers in the secondary panel of the Limestone District School Board.
The TBU Executive is responsible for issues that relate to Teachers, in particular, negotiating and maintaining the Collective Agreement. Each school or "branch" is represented on the executive by its Branch President.
The Collective Bargaining Committee (CBC) is the only Standing Committee of the Teachers' Bargaining Unit. The CBC is responsible for the preparation of the negotiating brief and the negotiations of a tentative Collective Agreement. Each school may have up to four (4) members on the CBC.
There is one General Meeting of the Teachers' Bargaining Unit. This meeting is held in May. The election of the TBU Executive takes place at this meeting.
