There are four Standing Committees of OSSTF Limestone District 27: Each of the committees recommend priorities and policies to the District Executive and the District Assembly. The Chair of each Committee is responsible to report to the District Executive and the District Assembly on its activities. The role of the Communications - Political Action Committee (CPAC) assists the Executive in keeping the membership of the District informed on political issues, concerns relevant to their role and all matters affecting the welfare of the District. The Chair is Karne Kozolanka, a Teacher at La Salle Secondary School. TheCollective Bargaining Committee (CBC) is comprised of the Chief Negotiator and Presidents of each Bargaining Unit. The Committee shares information on collective bargaining. The CBC Committee Chair is Elizabeth MacDonald, a Teacher at Bayridge Secondary School. The Chief Negotiator is Dave Herrington, a Teacher at Sydenham High School. The Educational Services Committee (Ed Services) is responsible for educational studies, workshops and conferences directed specifically to the professional development of all members of Limestone District 27. There are funds that may be allocated to members and the committee members assist in finding alternate sources of financial support for Professional Development activities. The Status of Women Committee provides a forum for discussing issues relevant to the professional careers of the women members of Limestone District 27. The Committee may provide sponsorships of programs or speakers that are relevant to the careers of women. |
